Day of Mindfulness Details

This “Day of Mindfulness” is a 7-hour immersive experience into mindfulness practice.  Many have found it to be a welcome break from the busyness of life.

Participants are asked to be silent for most of the day, while the instructor leads/guides various meditations, movement practices, and other mindfulness exercises.

Join us in taking a break from the demands of everyday life, while practicing meeting our own internal world with mindful awareness and kindness.

What to Expect

Throughout the day, R.J. will be guiding participants through a series of different practices/exercises (see schedule below). The basic view of the day is to prioritize a gentle awareness of our bodies and hearts, with as little judgment, and as much kindness as is accessible. It is about meeting ourselves exactly where we are and taking a break from the constant doing that runs so much of our waking hours.

Many have found that by engaging in a "Day of Mindfulness," the busyness of the mind naturally slows and calms down. From this stability of attention, we are able to see our own minds and hearts with more clarity and less self-criticism. This is a strong basis for igniting change from unhealthy habits to wholesome ones. The practices encourage turning toward our present-moment experience, a rich opportunity to accept ourselves just as we are.

Context, place, and community are important for this kind of deep work. Although most of the day will be in silence, you will have opportunities at the beginning and the end of the day to get to know your fellow meditators and reflect upon the day.  Despite the silence, many have reported feeling well supported by the group through their presence and engagement with the day’s schedule.

Teaching/guidance from a qualified teacher, a supportive community of fellow meditators, and one’s own genuine effort with the practices have shown to be a reliable recipe for promoting well-being, physical and mental health, self-understanding, and compassion.

Who is it For?

If you have some experience with mindfulness meditation, consider registering by clicking the button below. If you are brand new to mindfulness practice, the day could potentially feel overwhelming. Everyone is different, though, and for some a “Day of Mindfulness” can be a great introduction.

If you are suffering from mental illness, recently in recovery, or grieving the recent loss of a loved one, the Day of Mindfulness may not be a wise choice at this time. Consult a mental health professional if you're unsure and/or contact the teacher, R..J. Rongcal at rjrongcal@ever-mindful.com to schedule a phone call.
